CENTILIO PULSE / SELL · EMBER

Everything else is a preference. This is the part that breaks.

Proposed approach: authenticate first, preserve suppressions, and increase volume only as relevant delivery and complaint evidence supports it. There is no fixed warmup or migration duration that guarantees inbox placement.

The six things that decide it

In the order they matter.

Design targets only. Pulse has not been built or independently audited; this is not a certification, legal-compliance claim or guarantee of delivery.

Authentication

SPF, DKIM and DMARC on your own domain, with the exact DNS records, a check that they are live, and a plain-English line about what each one does. Google and Microsoft require all three from bulk senders; without them nothing else on this list helps.

Warmup

Proposed approach: authenticate first, preserve suppressions, and increase volume only as relevant delivery and complaint evidence supports it. There is no fixed warmup or migration duration that guarantees inbox placement.

Who you send to first

Engagement is the strongest signal there is. Pulse orders a send so your most recent openers go first and the dormant part of the list goes last — which does more for the inbox than any technical fix.

Complaints

Google recommends a Postmaster Tools spam rate below 0.1%, never reaching 0.3%. This is not a universal Microsoft threshold. See the provider sources for the applicable scope; no live measurement is made here.

Bounces

Hard bounces are removed automatically, soft bounces retried and then retired. A list that is not cleaned is a reputation being spent slowly, and every hard bounce you send to twice is a signal you are not paying attention.

Where the list came from

Pulse tries to detect a purchased list at import and refuses to send to it. This costs us signups. One bought list damages the reputation of everyone else sending from the platform, so it stays.

The thing we will not let you do

Send five thousand cold emails tomorrow.

Design targets only. Pulse has not been built or independently audited; this is not a certification, legal-compliance claim or guarantee of delivery.

A new domain has no reputation. Pulse ramps it, caps it per mailbox, and will not raise the cap because you are in a hurry. If you need to run high-volume outbound across dozens of domains from day one, Instantly and Smartlead are built for that and we say so on their comparison pages.

What Pulse is built for is the business with a real list, a real domain it intends to keep using for years, and a reason to email each person it emails. Everything on this page follows from that.

Opens, and why they are at the bottom

An estimate, not proof of a person reading.

Design targets only. Pulse has not been built or independently audited; this is not a certification, legal-compliance claim or guarantee of delivery.

With Protect Mail Activity enabled, Apple can load remote content in the background regardless of engagement. Opens therefore need context; replies can also include automated responses and need review.

Pulse still records opens, because comparing two sends to the same segment in the same week is genuinely useful. It labels them estimates, keeps them below replies and clicks, and never puts them at the top of a report. A tool that still leads with open rate is showing you a number it knows is wrong.

Standards

The same platform as Sign, Vault and Account.

Design targets only. Pulse has not been built or independently audited; this is not a certification, legal-compliance claim or guarantee of delivery.

Consent recorded, a working unsubscribe in every message including cold ones, a physical address, and one absolute suppression list shared with Relate. Encrypted in transit and at rest on AWS and Google Cloud; roles and SSO come from Account. Indian accounts will be able to ask for India residency on Enterprise. None of this is running yet — Pulse is not built — and the page will be rewritten with what is actually true on the day it ships. This is not legal advice.

Questions

About getting into the inbox.

Design targets only. Pulse has not been built or independently audited; this is not a certification, legal-compliance claim or guarantee of delivery.

Why is there a whole page about this?

Because deliverability is the thing that actually breaks, and it is the reason people are frightened of moving. Every other part of an email tool is a preference. This part decides whether the message arrives.

What do I have to do before my first send?

Authenticate the domain: SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Pulse gives you the exact DNS records, checks them, and explains in English what each one is doing. Google and Microsoft both require this from bulk senders now, and an unauthenticated domain is not a slow start, it is a wall.

What is warmup, and can I skip it?

Proposed approach: authenticate first, preserve suppressions, and increase volume only as relevant delivery and complaint evidence supports it. There is no fixed warmup or migration duration that guarantees inbox placement.

What are the thresholds that matter?

Google recommends a Postmaster Tools spam rate below 0.1%, never reaching 0.3%. This is not a universal Microsoft threshold. See the provider sources for the applicable scope; no live measurement is made here.

What happens to bounces?

Hard bounces are removed from the list automatically. Soft bounces are retried and then retired. A list that is not cleaned is a reputation being spent slowly.

Do I need a dedicated IP?

Proposed approach: authenticate first, preserve suppressions, and increase volume only as relevant delivery and complaint evidence supports it. There is no fixed warmup or migration duration that guarantees inbox placement.

What if my domain reputation is already damaged?

Proposed approach: authenticate first, preserve suppressions, and increase volume only as relevant delivery and complaint evidence supports it. There is no fixed warmup or migration duration that guarantees inbox placement.
