Before you rely on it

Many places have their own transfer rules, such as an official bill of sale or transfer form, an odometer disclosure on the title, safety or emissions certificates, and who keeps the plates. Check the rules of the motor vehicle office where the vehicle is registered before you approve it. In Ontario a private seller also gives the buyer the Used Vehicle Information Package.
