CENTILIO WRITE / WORK

Looking for a Google Docs alternative? Here is the honest version.

Google Docs made writing together in a browser normal, and it ships today. Write is designed for a narrower job: the business documents that are drafted from records your business already keeps, then signed and filed. Write has not shipped, and this page says so.

Write has not shipped yet.

Everything on these pages — the screens, the features, the prices — is Centilio Write as designed, not a product you can open today. Write is in the third wave of Centilio tools: there is no app, no beta and no launch date yet, and we would rather show you the whole design and say so than publish a page with three sentences on it. Join the waitlist and you will hear first.

Choose

Which one to choose.

Choose Google Docs if

Your team already works in Google Workspace, you want live co-editing in the browser today, and your documents do not need to know about your deals, people or numbers.

Choose Write if

Your proposals, contracts, policies and reports are drafted from records your business already keeps, you want them signed and filed without attachments, and you can wait for wave 3.

The difference

The difference is what the document starts from.

Day to day, both are designed around the same habits: live editing, comments, suggestions and versions.

Google Docs starts from a blank page or a template and leaves the facts to you. Write is designed to start from the record a document belongs to — the deal, the person, the numbers — with each fact linked to its source, so a reviewer can see where a figure came from and Celia can tell you when the source changes.

After the writing, the paths differ too. In Write the finished document goes to Sign in one click, with the signers filled in, and the signed copy is filed in Drive beside the draft.

If you switch, later

What moving from Google Docs will take.

  1. Keep the old tool for a while. Write is designed to import .docx, so nothing has to move on day one; start with new documents and bring old ones when you touch them.
  2. Move the templates first. Your proposal, contract and policy templates are where the hours are saved; rebuild those in your brand and the rest follows.
  3. Bring the live documents, not the archive. Documents still being edited or signed come across; finished ones can stay where they are, or be filed in Drive.
  4. Check one document end to end. Draft, edit, send to Sign, file in Drive — once, properly — before the team moves.
