Choose TallyPrime if
Your CA already works in it, you keep inventory in the same books, a Windows desktop suits you, and you need it today.
TallyPrime is the accounting tool many Indian businesses and their CAs know best, with GST, inventory and decades of use behind it, and it ships today. Ledger is designed for a small business that wants its books in the browser, built from Bill, Spend and Pay, with GST returns prepared for its CA. Here is where each fits.
Product design preview · Ledger has not shipped. All features, screens and prices are proposals.
Everything on these pages — the screens, the features, the prices — is Centilio Ledger as designed. Ledger has not shipped: it sits in the third wave of Centilio tools, and there is no app, no beta and no launch date yet. We would rather set out the whole design and say so plainly than publish a thin page and let you guess. Join the waitlist and you will hear first; if you need an invoice today, the free invoice generator works now, with no sign-up.
Checked against the vendors’ public pages during research in 2026. We compare how each tool charges, not what it charges, because list prices move; if something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Your CA already works in it, you keep inventory in the same books, a Windows desktop suits you, and you need it today.
You want the books in the browser, built from Bill, Spend and Pay and reviewed in one queue, with GST returns prepared for your accountant, one price for everyone, and you can wait for wave 3.
TallyPrime keeps the books in a data file on a Windows computer, with add-ons for working remotely. Ledger is designed to keep them in the browser from the start.
On a desktop, the books are where the computer is: the CA visits, a backup travels by email, or a remote-access add-on is set up. That works, and many businesses are well served by it.
In Ledger the owner, the office and your accountant are designed to open the same books from anywhere, each with a role of their own, and the trail shows who changed what. The trade-off is plain: Ledger needs a connection, keeps no inventory, and has not shipped.
For many small businesses it is designed to; for others it will work alongside, with exports in the formats accountants expect. If you keep inventory in your books, TallyPrime does that today and Ledger will not.
As of research in 2026, TallyPrime is sold as a licence bought once per edition, single-user or multi-user, with a yearly renewal for updates. Check Tally Solutions’ page for today’s prices.
That is the design: GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B drafted from your invoices and purchases, with input tax credit checked against GSTR-2B, for you or your CA to file. TallyPrime has handled GST for years; Ledger has not shipped.
Yes, with a role of their own on every plan, and spreadsheet and CSV exports of every ledger and report. They see the books and the trail, not the rest of your Centilio account.
No. Ledger is in the third wave of Centilio tools and has no launch date yet. Join the waitlist and you will hear first.
That is the plan: start from opening balances on a clean date, often 1 April, keep TallyPrime for earlier years, and run both for a month before you stop. How masters and history import will be stated here when it is decided.
Ledger is in the third wave, after Bill, with Spend and Pay beside it. Join the waitlist and you will hear before the announcement. Tell us how you keep the books today and what your year-end looks like; the awkward requirements shape the design most.
