Model Private Residential Tenancy Agreement

Official form

The Scottish Government's model agreement for a private residential tenancy under the Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act 2016. The landlord fills in the model and issues it to the tenant with the Easy Read Notes, and each tenant, any guarantor and the landlord sign it.

  1. Create the agreement with the online form on mygov.scot, or download the model from gov.scot.
  2. Choose who fills each one: the landlord fills in the tenancy details, and each tenant and the landlord sign.
  3. Send it to the tenants with the Easy Read Notes.
