CENTILIO STOCK / MONEY

What the best inventory management software does, feature by feature.

Good stock software keeps the level right without a count, tells you what to order before you run out, and says what the shelves are worth. Stock is designed around five jobs — items, levels, reorders, scanning and valuation — and here is every feature, what Celia does in each and which plan it sits on. Every line is proposed, and nothing on it runs yet.

Stock has not shipped yet.

Stock has not shipped. The console, the features, the plans and the prices on these pages are the design, set out in full so you can judge it long before it exists. Stock is in the fourth wave of Centilio tools — later than most — with no app, no beta and no date yet. Join the waitlist and you will be told first.

Five chapters

Every feature, chapter by chapter.

Each chapter ends with what Celia does in it; a person decides what happens next. The proposed plan follows every feature.

5 feature groups

Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Items, variants, batches and locations.

Items

Read capabilities
  1. Items and variants. One item with its sizes, colours or pack sizes, each variant with its own code and level. Free
  2. Tax codes on items. A sales-tax code on each item, so the invoice in Bill carries the right rate. Free
  3. Several locations. Warehouses, shops, vans or a shelf in the back office, each with its own levels; up to five on Pro. Pro
  4. Units of measure. Buy by the case or the roll, sell by the piece or the metre, and the level stays right in both. Pro
  5. Batches and expiry dates. A batch number and expiry date on each delivery, with the oldest suggested first when you pick. Pro
  6. Serial numbers. For items tracked one by one, from the delivery to the customer who bought it. Business
  7. What Celia does here: it suggests variants and units from your first supplier bills, and you confirm them. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Levels updated by every sale and purchase.

Levels

Read capabilities
  1. Moved by sales. Every invoice in Bill and every order in Shop takes stock out as it happens. Free
  2. Moved by purchases. Every delivery received against an order or supplier bill puts stock in. Free
  3. Counts that reconcile. Count a shelf on a phone; each difference is recorded with a reason, never typed over. Free
  4. Movement history. Every movement with who made it, when, and the document behind it. Free
  5. Reserved and available. Stock promised to open orders shown apart from stock that is free to sell. Pro
  6. Transfers between locations. Move stock from one location to another as one movement, out of one and into the other. Pro
  7. What Celia does here: it flags a level that does not fit recent sales, and you decide whether it needs a count. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Reorder points and supplier orders.

Reorder

Read capabilities
  1. Reorder points. A minimum for each item and location, and a warning when the level crosses it. Free
  2. Suppliers and their prices. Each supplier with lead times and the last price paid for every item. Pro
  3. Purchase orders. Drafted, approved, sent, then received in part or in full, with the level moving as each delivery lands. Pro
  4. Run-out forecast. How many days each item has left, from what actually sold and what is already on order. Pro
  5. Approval before an order goes. Purchase orders above a value you set wait for a named approver. Business
  6. What Celia does here: it forecasts what will run out and drafts the purchase order; a person approves and sends it. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Barcode and QR on mobile.

Scan

Read capabilities
  1. Scan with any phone. The camera is the scanner; no extra hardware is needed to start. Free
  2. Barcode and QR labels. Print labels for items, shelves and bins that do not have a code yet. Free
  3. Keeps working on a weak signal. Scans are designed to be kept on the phone and sent when the connection returns. Free
  4. Receive, count and pick by scanning. Check a delivery against its order, count a shelf or pick an order with the phone in your hand. Pro
  5. What Celia does here: it matches a scanned code to the right item, and asks when it is not sure. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Valuation posted to Ledger.

Valuation

Read capabilities
  1. Stock value at a glance. What you hold at cost, by item and location, at any date. Free
  2. Average cost or FIFO. Use the costing method your accountant prefers. Pro
  3. Posted to Ledger. The value of each movement posted to the books as it happens, so the balance sheet agrees with the shelves. Pro
  4. Slow and dead stock. Items with no sale in 90 days flagged, with the cash tied up in them. Pro
  5. Audit trail export. Every movement, count, adjustment and approval, exported for an auditor or a stock-take. Business
  6. What Celia does here: it flags the stock that never moves and the cash tied up in it, and you decide what to do with it. Pro

What stock software adds to a stock spreadsheet.

The tool most small businesses compare Stock with is the spreadsheet they already keep. Comparisons with named tools sit on the compare pages.

Questions

About the features.

Is any of this available today?

No. Stock has not shipped, and every feature on this page is a design with a proposed plan beside it. The waitlist hears the moment it opens.

Which features are free?

Items and variants, tax codes, levels moved by sales and purchases, counts, movement history, reorder points, scanning and labels on any phone, and stock value at cost. Free is designed for one location and up to three people.

Does Stock handle batches and expiry dates?

Yes, on Pro and above by design. Each batch carries its number and expiry date, and Stock suggests the oldest first when you pick.

Can I sell in one unit and buy in another?

Yes. Units of measure are designed in on Pro: buy by the case or the roll, sell by the piece or the metre, and the level stays right in both.

Which costing methods will there be?

Average cost and FIFO are planned on Pro, so you can use whichever method your accountant prefers. The value is designed to post to Ledger as stock moves.

Will there be an API?

An API is proposed on Business. Its documentation will appear on this page when there is something to document.

What Stock works with.

The tools whose transactions move the levels. Each arrives in its own wave, and Stock is designed to work with all of them from the day it opens.

Hear first when Stock opens.

Stock is in the fourth wave, after Bill, Ledger and Spend, whose invoices, books and supplier bills it is designed to read. Join the waitlist and you will be told before the announcement; in the meantime Account, Sign and Drive are live.
