CENTILIO PAY / MONEY

Cloud based payroll software features, and the plan each is on.

Pay is designed around five jobs: prepare the run from what Team knows, compute and file what India requires, put payslips and tax statements on phones, move the money and the entries, and keep a person in charge of every approval. Here is every feature, what Celia does in it, what a person approves, and the plan it sits on. All of it is proposed, and none of it is running yet.

Pay has not shipped yet.

Everything on these pages — the screens, the features, the prices — is Centilio Pay as designed. Pay has not shipped: it sits in the third wave of Centilio tools, after Team and Ledger, and there is no app, no beta and no launch date yet. At launch it is designed to run payroll in India only. We would rather set out the whole design and say so plainly than publish a thin page; join the waitlist and you will hear first.

Five chapters

Every feature, chapter by chapter.

Each chapter ends with what Celia does in it and what a person approves. The plan name follows every feature.

5 feature groups

Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Payroll prepared from Team, reviewed on one screen.

Run

Read capabilities
  1. Run prepared from Team. Attendance, leave, joiners, leavers and salary changes come from Team, so a run starts complete rather than from a spreadsheet. Free
  2. One review screen. Everyone’s pay on one screen, with what changed since last month marked and explained. Free
  3. Salary structures. Basic, HRA, allowances and deductions set once per grade or per person, with CTC broken down the way your offer letters say. Free
  4. Loss of pay from leave. Unpaid leave and absences in Team become loss-of-pay days before the run is prepared, not after someone notices. Free
  5. Arrears, bonuses and one-off pay. Back pay, a bonus or a one-time deduction added to a run without breaking the structure. Pro
  6. Celia here. Prepares the run, explains every change from last month in a sentence, and flags anything unusual before you approve. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

PF, ESI, TDS and professional tax, computed and filed.

Statutory

Read capabilities
  1. PF and ESI. Employee and employer contributions computed for everyone eligible, with the EPF ECR and the ESI contribution file prepared each month. Free
  2. TDS on salary. Tax deducted under the regime each employee chooses, old or new, from their declarations and proofs, with Form 24Q prepared each quarter. Pro
  3. Professional tax and labour welfare fund. State slabs applied by where each person works, with the returns prepared. Pro
  4. Filings submitted on approval. Where the authority allows, a filing is submitted after a named person approves it; elsewhere the file is ready to upload. Pro
  5. Full and final settlement. Leave encashment, gratuity where it is due, notice recovery and final dues worked out when someone leaves. Pro
  6. Celia here. Checks each statutory figure against last month and the rules, and flags anyone whose eligibility changed before the run is approved. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Payslips and tax statements on employees’ phones.

Payslips

Read capabilities
  1. Payslips on the phone. Each person gets their payslip on their phone on pay day, with a plain breakdown of every line. Free
  2. Declarations and proofs. Employees declare investments and upload proofs on their phone; you approve them in one list. Pro
  3. Form 16 and tax statements. Year-end tax statements prepared for every employee and delivered to their phone. Pro
  4. Pay questions, answered from the run. When someone asks why their pay changed, they get the explanation that was approved with the run. Business
  5. Celia here. Answers an employee’s question about their payslip from the approved explanation, and passes anything else to a person. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Claims in, salaries out, every entry to Ledger.

Money

Read capabilities
  1. Reimbursements from Spend. Approved expense claims added to the run, so people are reimbursed with their salary. Free
  2. Paid on the day. On approval, a payment file is prepared for your bank, so salaries leave on pay day and not before. Free
  3. Every entry posted to Ledger. Salaries, deductions and employer costs posted to the right accounts, with the run linked. Free
  4. Several entities and pay groups. Different companies, locations or pay dates, each with its own run, under one bill. Business
  5. Celia here. Checks the payment file against the approved run before anything is released; a person approves the payment. Pro
Proposed at launch unless marked after launch

Approvals, roles and a trail on every run.

Control

Read capabilities
  1. Approval before pay. No run is paid and no filing goes out until a named person approves it. Free
  2. Accountant access. Your accountant sees runs, filings and reports with a role of their own, and never counts against your plan. Free
  3. Maker and checker. One person prepares the run, another approves it, and the trail records both. Business
  4. Audit trail export and API. Every run, change and approval exported for an auditor, and an API (proposed) for the tools around payroll. Business
  5. Celia here. Drafts the monthly payroll summary for the owner and the working file for your accountant; a person approves both. Pro

Against the usual way

What a prepared run changes, against a salary sheet.

For a small business the comparison that matters most is not with a brand. It is with the spreadsheet, the calculator and the reminders on someone’s phone; named comparisons are on the compare pages.

Questions

About the features.

Is any of this available today?

No. Pay has not shipped, and every feature on this page is a design with a proposed plan beside it. Join the waitlist to hear when it opens.

Which features are free?

The run prepared from Team, the review screen, salary structures, loss of pay from leave, PF and ESI, payslips on phones, reimbursements from Spend, the payment file, posting to Ledger, approval before pay and the accountant role. Free is designed for up to five people.

What does Celia do on each plan?

On every plan Celia explains what changed from last month. On Pro and above it also checks the statutory figures and flags missing proofs and eligibility changes, and on Business it answers employees’ pay questions from the approved run. It never pays or files anything on its own.

Does Pay handle the old and the new tax regime?

That is the design. Each employee chooses a regime, declares investments and uploads proofs on their phone, and TDS is computed under the regime they chose.

Which states does professional tax cover?

Professional tax is designed to follow the slabs of each state that levies it, by where each person works. The list of states covered at launch will be published here when it is final.

Will there be an API?

An API is proposed on Business. It will be documented here when it exists, and not before.

What people use with Pay.

The tools Pay sits between. Two of them run today, so you can judge those while Pay is built.

Hear first when Pay opens.

Pay is in the third wave, after Team and Ledger, and it starts with India. Join the waitlist and you will hear before the announcement. Tell us how many people you pay, in which states, and what goes wrong in your month today; that shapes the design more than anything else.
