Authority Letter
A letter in which a person authorises someone they trust to do one task on their behalf, such as collecting documents or submitting forms, for use in India. The authoriser signs first, then the authorised person adds a specimen signature.

Where it fits
Use it for one task with an end date. For wider or ongoing powers over property, money or legal matters, use a power of attorney prepared under local law.
Before you rely on it
Original Centilio wording, not legal advice. Check that the task is narrow and clear, and that the receiving office accepts a signed letter, as some banks and offices ask for their own form or copies of both persons' identity documents. A simple authority letter does not usually need stamp paper, but a power of attorney needs stamp paper and often notarisation or registration under state rules.
