CENTILIO TEAM / PEOPLE

Gusto HR software, and where Team differs.

Gusto is a payroll, benefits and HR platform for small businesses in the United States, with HR tools built around the pay run. Team is designed as the people record first, from the offer in Hire to the last day, with each month’s payroll inputs prepared for a manager to approve. Team has not shipped; Gusto has.

Team has not shipped yet.

Team has not shipped. These pages set out Centilio Team as it is designed — the console, every feature, the plans and their proposed prices — so you can weigh it before it exists. It is part of the third wave of Centilio tools, coming after Hire, and has no beta and no launch date yet. Join the waitlist to be told first.

Side by side

Centilio Team and Gusto, honestly.

Choose

Which one to choose.

Choose Gusto if

You employ people in the United States and your first need is payroll, tax filing and benefits handled well today, with HR alongside.

Choose Team if

Your first need is the people record — leave, documents, onboarding and exits — priced once for the business, with payroll as a separate step a manager approves, and you can wait for wave 3.

The difference

Payroll first, or the record first.

Gusto starts from paying people. Team starts from the person.

A payroll-first product is built around the pay run, and HR grows out of it. That suits a business whose hardest problem is getting pay, tax and benefits right every cycle.

Team is designed the other way round: the record comes first, from the offer in Hire to the last day, and each month’s payroll inputs are prepared from it for a manager to approve. Payroll itself is Pay, a separate Centilio tool in the same wave, so a business can keep the payroll provider it trusts and still keep one people record.

If you switch, later

What moving from Gusto will take.

  1. Start with the spreadsheet or export you have. Team is designed to map its columns and mark what is missing, so nothing is retyped.
  2. Run both for one pay cycle. Keep the old system until a month of leave and payroll inputs match, then switch.
  3. Bring documents as you need them. Current contracts and policies first; the archive can follow or stay where it is.
  4. Tell employees once. One message with the phone link, and leave requests move across from the next one on.
Questions

About switching.

How is Gusto priced?

As of research in 2026, Gusto charges a monthly base fee plus a fee per person, with plans that add features such as time tracking. Check Gusto’s own page for today’s detail.

Does Team run US payroll like Gusto?

No. Team does not run payroll at all. Pay, a separate Centilio tool in the same wave, is designed for that, and Team prepares its inputs.

Can I keep Gusto for payroll and use Team for HR?

That split is reasonable, and a connection to an outside payroll provider is one of the things the waitlist can ask for. Until one exists, Team’s monthly inputs can be exported for any provider.

Can I move my records from Gusto?

Team is designed to import from another system’s export, mapping the columns to the record and marking what is missing. Signed documents come across as files and are filed on each person in Drive.

Is Team available now?

No. Team belongs to the third wave of Centilio tools, after Hire, and has no launch date. The waitlist hears first when that changes.

Is Team only for the United States?

No. Team is designed for businesses in any country, with holiday calendars by location and Indian statutory registers prepared with Pay.

Be first to know when Team opens.

Team follows Hire in the third wave, alongside Pay, which runs the salaries Team prepares. Join the waitlist for a note before anything is announced. Hire, Sign and Drive are yours to use in the meantime.
